Olympic report by Henry

Do you know some of the similarities between ancient olympics and modern? This term our class are focusing on the similarities and differences between the ancient olympics and modern olympics.  Some of the factors I have looked at are: events, participants, preparation, countries, prizes and the time frame.

The events are a little similar to each other because they still have horse races, boxing and sprint races.  There are differences because the modern olympic have added a whole lot of new sports like high jump, swimming, and water polo.

The equipment in the ancient olympics is different because the modern olympic sports have swimming,  high jump and hockey but back in ancient Greece they had no courts at all only a field and for seats they had to sit on rocks.

The time frame of the modern and ancient olympics are the same because the olympic games are held every four years.  A man called Hercules had won a race and said to all athletes to train for 10 months to prepare before olympics games began.

The places the games are held is very different because in the ancient games the games were held in Greece and only greek men competed.  Now in the modern olympics they are held all over the world in many places.  Both men and women are allowed to compete.

If ladies were caught watching the ancient games they would have been pushed off a cliff,  but in the modern games women are now allowed to go and watch and to represent their country.
The biggest difference between the ancient and modern olympics is the countries involved.  In the ancient olympics it is only Greek men but now in the modern olympics all countries are allowed to compete.

The ancient prizes were different to the modern because prizes in the modern olympics are gold, silver and bronze medals and flowers, but in the ancient olympics they had an olive crown that they put around their heads.

So those were the similarities and differences between the ancient and modern olympics.  These are the factors that I used: events, participants, countries, prizes, and the time frame.  So now you know some of the similarities and differences between modern and ancient Olympics.

A boy's head

In it there is a boxing ring
and a project for
doing away with boxing lessons.

And there is
a stadium
which shall be first.

And there is
an entirely new body,
an entirely new person ,
an entirely new personality.

There is a road
leading to heaven.

There is a report.

There is anti- blue spray can .

And it cannot be Held back.

I believe
that only what cannot be held back
is a head.

There is much promise
in the circumstance
that so many people have heads.

in the freezer

and which
you were probably
saving
for your dessert tonight.

Forgive me
it was delightful
so sugary
and freezing cold.

I asked the little boy who could not see

I asked the little boy who could not see
“And what is color like?”
“Why red,” said he,
“Is like sitting in front of the fire at my house.
Pouring rain on a cold day that is blue.
Yellow is like the warm sun that shines down over me.
Purple must be thunderclouds fighting in the sky.
The forest where its nice and peaceful, that is like green.
Pink is like the sweet taste of lollies that we eat on birthdays.
White is the fog that I walk through on winter mornings.
And orange is the orange drink that I have before a rugby game.

My awesome holidays

It was a beautiful Friday afternoon. When we started a rugby game we made our teams. My team decided that our team name will be the All Blacks. The other team started to get angry because they said that, that was there team name. They almost cried so we said we will change it to Tonga.

The kick went soaring through the sky it nearly went on to the road but no, Papa caught it and he ran like a bull but a bull that was very very ferries. I was ready to do a  tackle all of a sudden.....BANG he fell on to the ground faster then a elephant falling down. He got up he passed it to the big pig he wasn't actually a pig but he looked like one. He was running and I just sat down he didn't see me and he tripped over I was laughing my head off. It was time for action we had the ball I ran my fastest. I had Molia and his brother Gordan. Back to when I was running I bumped off save and Papa then I went to make the try then I made it we were so happy because we scored the first try of the game.
I felt good. You can tell that the other team was angry because they were shouting at each other loudly. My team was laughing.
We kicked the ball it went in the air and popped. We were the winners we were happy as because we won the game
of rugby.
